ALLY TIERNEY - PRINCIPAL PLANNER/OWNER

I guess I have always been a free spirit.  I have always been one to follow my dreams fiercely to see where they lead.  I began my career in theatre, spent some time living in India, taught special education, and then started 2hands Studios with some dear friends.  Through this journey, I realized that my favorite aspect of our business is the people we get to meet along our way.  Our clients and their families mean the world to me and have helped shape 2hands to what it is today.

JEN NYLAND - PRINCIPAL PLANNER/OWNER

A leap of faith is how I became a part of 2 Hands Studios Events. I have produced events spanning from 10 person micro weddings to 7000 person corporate galas.  Of all the events that I have been a part of, weddings have always been what I am most drawn to.  When my close friend reached out about adding a new division to her already successful design business, I took that leap of faith and am so grateful that I did!  

I love getting to know my clients personally and helping them bring their ideas to life to create their dream wedding.  I’m a sucker for a good “how we met” story. Can’t wait to meet you and hear yours!

I believe that some people come into our lives for a reason and here is why I say that. As I began discerning my career and exploring opportunities to fill my passion, I reached out to Jen Nyland to let her know of my interest. I had the pleasure of working with Jen for several years managing luxury suites and corporate events in professional sports arenas. That conversation led to me to 2hands and for that I am most grateful.

I know first hand how stressful planning a wedding can be while balancing job and life. My greatest joy is working with couples as they plan one of the most important days of their lives. I am committed to helping couples actualize the wedding they envision and ensuring that their special day will be one that they, their family and friends will remember forever.

Born and raised in Chicago, a corporate job brought me to Maryland in 2011. Although I initially thought my time in Maryland would be temporary, I now call it home with my husband and two young children.

After many years of running a busy wedding and event venue, I have been privileged to witness hundreds of special moments.  From the first look to the first dance- there is nothing quite as satisfying as seeing months of meticulous planning come to life. I adore helping couples plan their perfect day and I cannot wait to hear how I can help you create unforgettable memories on your big day!

To me, there is nothing better than a cold glass of rosé, a creative table scape, getting down on the dance floor and clients who turn into friends.  There’s no design challenge that I’m not up for, and no event planning issue that I’m not ready to tackle head on!
